Preparation doesn’t vary too much – fry them in your fryer or on top of the stove – but this Southern favorite lends itself to a variety of recipes from traditional to contemporary. Great as a side dish, and also perfect as an appetizer – don’t forget the dip.

Cooking Directions

DEEP FRYING:
Preheat vegetable oil to 350°F. Place desired amount of frozen tomatoes in fry basket. Carefully immerse basket in hot oil and fry for 4-8 minutes or until golden brown. Drain and serve.

STOVE TOP:
Place sufficient vegetable oil or shortening in skillet to cover bottom (approximately ½ inch). Preheat oil over medium heat to 350°F. Carefully place frozen tomatoes in hot oil and cook until golden brown, turning several times with spatula.
